inBy Friday April 29, those people reading an auto/biography/memoir are asked to publish a fourth and final post on their blogs–whether or not you have presented by that day. Use this post to reflect on the whole biography. If your third post does some of this, find a new angle from which to respond to the reading–for example, an insight you took from the reading but have not yet expressed.
Those of you creating a commonplace book can continue your pace of one published entry every other day. If you have presented earlier in the order, you can wind down with a new published post every third day.
These expectations for both groups (bio and cpb) end after Friday April 29.

learning goals: In my auto/biography or commonplace book, what main ideas am I finding that I did not expect to find? Are answers to my initial questions emerging from my work on this project? How can I best communicate these ideas and answers to others in some kind of “presentation”? In other words, how can I help them appreciate what I have come to understand?
brief explanation of presentation and corresponding rubric (on the “Raw Materials” page of this course blog, review “presentation ideas” and “presentation rubric template”
You are expected to customize your own rubric from the template–by inserting categories (criteria) and brief descriptions of that category in the far lefthand column. At least a day before you present, show me your customized rubric for review. On the day of the presentation, distribute three copies of the approved rubric–two for classmates and one for me. We will independently complete the rubric, with brief comments explaining our evaluation. All completed rubrics then come to me for determining a consensus score.

inHow many entries? My current thought on this question is one published entry every other day, which gives you the intervening days to locate a passage and consider your thoughts about it. If we start counting from April 1, with that day being a search-and-consider day, this means you have written two entries by today (Tue Apr 5) and are thinking about the third (to be published tomorrow, Wed Apr 6). Remember to review my commonplace book purplemarblemajesty for sample reflections on chosen passages. The reflections written in blue font show recommended depth and length.
Remember the essential differences between a blog’s posts on the one hand, and its pages on the other. Also, remember that organization is a basic function of the commonplace book. It’s one thing to find passages that mean something to you. A extra layer of meaning emerges, once you organize the collection that is accumulating.
In my (evolving, developing) commonplace book, I use pages as the primary organizational tool. You may want to do this, or use posts. If pots is your preferred tool, you can create tags or categories to organize the posts. Somewhere on your blog, you want to indicate how people navigate the organizational structure, the design of the book.
